چکیده

The absorption of (47)Ca Cl(2) taken with a milk and porridge meal was measured in normal subjects, patients with a partial gastrectomy, and patients with malabsorption. The addition of palm oil to the meal depressed calcium absorption, whereas the addition of medium-chain triglyceride had no effect. The contrasting effect of the two fats on calcium absorption was most marked in patients with a partial gastrectomy and least marked in patients with malabsorption. In patients with malabsorption, impairment of calcium absorption was most marked in the patients with a significant increase in faecal fat excretion. Absorption of calcium was greater in patients with a partial gastrectomy than in normal subjects.

Investigation of Ruminal Degradability and Intestinal Digestibility in Soybean and Canola Meals Coated with Different Fat Sources

The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro effect of coating soybean meal and canola meal with different fat sources on ruminal degradability and intestinal digestibility, as well as, the in vivo digestibility. For this purpose, calcium salt of omega-3, calcium salts of unsaturated fatty acids and prilled fat were used for coating. To determine ruminal degradability, three lactating Hol...

Effect of partial replacement of dietary fish meal with soybean meal on some hematological and serum biochemical parameters of juvenile Beluga, Huso huso

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of partial replacement of dietary fish meal with soybean meal (SBM) on some blood and serum parameters of Beluga (Huso huso) juveniles. Three isonitrogenic and isoenergetic diets, as SBM1 (Soybean meal protein (SBP): Fishmeal Protein (FP) =1:3), SBM2 (SBP: FP = 2: 3) and SBM3 (SBP: FP =1: 1) were fed to triplicate groups of fish. After 8 weeks...
